“I set out, through the action of my hands to realise a world of dream where science and art can find a place to coexist. Using images taken from biology and consumerism, I produce functionless structures that share tactile and visual qualities with the natural world, looking much like D’Arcy Thompson’s model foraminifera themselves. However, without the need to provide any scientific explanation about the forms, they take on a role of vocabulary of a total subjective language. Each form becomes a character on its own and the collections even end up developing themselves. I hope they call upon the myth embedded in the forming and performing of human intellect.”
